Goalkeeper Training Program - Spring 2025

ERU Goalkeeper Training Program

The ERU Goalkeeper Training Program is an 8-week specialized training designed to develop and refine goalkeeping skills for committed ERU players.

This program is free for ERU travel players.
This program is $125 for non-ERU travel players.

Program Details:

Duration: 8 weeks (April 23 - June 14)
Training Day: Saturdays
Time: 10:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Location: RCC
Eligibility: U9 - U15 Age Groups. Free to ERU travel players. $125 for non-ERU travel players

Program Expectations:

This is not a drop-in program. Players are expected to attend all sessions consistently.
Training groups will be organized by age and ability level to ensure effective development.
Sessions will focus on the technical aspects of goalkeeping, including footwork, positioning, shot-stopping, distribution, and decision-making.

Required Equipment:

Goalkeeper gloves (Properly sized)
Cleats (Indoor or outdoor, depending on the surface)
Soccer apparel (Shorts, socks, jersey, and shin guards)

Boys Travel

2025 ERU Boys Travel Program - Spring

Registration Deadline:

March 3rd, 2025; a late fee will be charged thereafter

Season: approximately 10 weeks

Practices will begin week of March 24th for preseason training
Games begin April 6th, with games on 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 6/1, and 6/8.
Season ends June 8th with the weekend of June 14th/15th saved as a makeup date for cancelled games.
PLEASE NOTE: Field availability and conditions are very difficult in the Spring. Delays and changes to this schedule may occur.

Practices:

Two (2) practices per week for U9 - U12
Three (3) practices per week for U13 - U15

Games:

One (1) game per week (typically Sunday) versus another CJSA team

Tournament:

Newtown Soccer Club Memorial Day Tournament over Memorial Day Weekend

Registration Notes:

Register for the U-level corresponding with your player's birth year
Teams will be formed based on registrations as of March 3rd; U-levels may be merged to form a team
The ERU Boys Coaching Director and his coaching staff will determine final team placement across all age groups.
Players who were rostered on a 2024 Fall ERU team and are returning for the Spring 2025 Season will receive a $200 discount off the registration fee

Player Evaluations

All players born in 2017 and players who are new to the ERU Boys Travel program and are born in 2016 are required to attend a player evaluation on February 27th, 2025. This evaluation is in order to ensure appropriate team placement. The evaluations will be run by the ERU Boys Coaching Director (CD) using the boys coaching staff as evaluators. Final team placement will be determined by the CD.
Location: Samuel Staples Elementary School gym
Date/Time: February 27th, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 PM
Please wear indoor shoes (no outdoor cleats) and bring a water bottle.
