The ERU Travel program is geared to competitive soccer players who are willing to make a significant time commitment to soccer. ERU is committed to providing playing opportunities at the highest level possible based on the player's talent and desire.
ERU teams play in the Southwest district of the CJSA leagues and must abide by CJSA rules. Travel teams follow CJSA/US Youth Soccer guidelines and teams are created based on player birth years.
To ensure the highest level of training and fairness, ERU requires all travel teams to be coached by professional coaches. Our coaching staff is lead by the Joel Barlow High School varsity boys and girls soccer coaches. U9-U12 Teams practice twice a week and U13-U15 Teams practice three times a week. Practices are 1.5 hours long. Games are usually played on Sundays, but occasionally there will be a game on Saturday. ERU travel games are typically played in Fairfield County. Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from games. Players must wear soccer cleats, shin guards and a team uniform (purchased separately).
The travel season schedules are set by CJSA. The fall season typically begins in mid-September and the spring season typically begins in mid-April. Each game season is typically 8 games over a 10-week schedule. The ERU pre-season for fall begins around Labor Day and 2 weeks before the first spring game. Pre-season coaching is included in the registration fees.
